Pomegranate, citrus, fresh herbs and warm spices mingle to to represent flavors of all four seasons. Inspired by the abduction of the goddess Persephone by Hades, lord of the underworld. Persephone consumed six pomegranate seeds, forcing her to spend six months of each year in the underworld. During her time in the underworld, the vegetation and flora of the world would wither and die, signifying Autumn and Winter. Persephone’s re-emergence from the Underworld signifies the onset of Spring and Summer.
